At Yun-I, in general, we perform single embryo transfer on the fifth day after ovulation in a natural cycle.
On the seventh day after transfer, we arrange a blood test to check HCG, human chorionic gonadotropin.
At this time, if the transferred embryo has already implanted, the placenta begins to form, and the trophoblast tissue of the placenta secretes HCG.
We can confirm whether pregnancy has occurred by checking the HCG level.
Usually, when the HCG level is above 10, we consider pregnancy to be successful.
However, in a good pregnancy, the HCG level doubles every 48 hours.
Today, one happy mother-to-be came in for her second HCG test.
Her first test two days ago was 186, and today’s result was 400.
We were very happy to congratulate her on her pregnancy 🎊
Overjoyed, she told us that in her entire life, she had never seen two lines appear on a pregnancy test.
We told her that most pregnancy tests currently available on the market may show a positive result when HCG exceeds 25.
