Congratulations! Former ERA News anchor Hui-Ni Kuo married Changjia Construction Chairman Tsai-Hsiang Wang in 2014, and the couple later welcomed twin daughters. At the age of 37, she successfully gave birth to a baby boy yesterday, fulfilling her wish of having a second pregnancy before turning 40.
She revealed that her second pregnancy was achieved through IVF. After turning 35, she realized that her chances of conceiving had significantly declined, which led her to try IVF treatment. Now that her dream has come true, she has officially become a mother of three.
Kuo shared that during the second half of last year, amid the pandemic, she actively prepared her eggs and underwent IVF treatment. Following the egg preparation and pregnancy care advice of Dr. Hui-Po Li, Director of Yun-I Reproductive Center, she chose Yun-I for both her IVF treatment and prenatal checkups. On July 5, she successfully gave birth to her second child.
“Six years ago, when I naturally conceived my twin daughters, Dr. Li was already a key supporter in my journey. It was also Dr. Li who encouraged us back then, which gave my husband and me the courage to take the chance and give birth to our twin girls,” she said.
Having already given birth to twins, Kuo originally thought she was someone who could conceive easily. However, after turning 35, she realized that her chances of pregnancy had decreased significantly. After consulting with Dr. Li, she and her husband decided to try natural conception while also pursuing assisted reproduction.
“Now, I am truly grateful to my past self for having the courage to take action,” she said.
She also noted that nowadays, not many of her friends have three children. “Although the process involved some hesitation and hardship, and my friends said, ‘You already have two children, and you still want to go through egg retrieval?’ They really admired my determination. But honestly, I simply made the decision and followed through with it.”
She also encouraged other couples struggling with infertility, saying that although the journey to having a child can be difficult, the final result is still joyful and worthwhile.
“Taiwan has the lowest birth rate in the world, but its IVF implantation success rate ranks second globally. With such advanced technology and government subsidies now available, fulfilling the dream of having a child is no longer an impossible task!”
