【Good Pregnancy Story】
She is 42 years old and got married at the age of 40. After marriage, she immediately began trying very hard to have a baby.
Last year, she became pregnant twice, but both pregnancies ended in miscarriage due to advanced maternal age and embryo abnormalities. She also underwent two uterine curettage procedures.
When she came to Yun-I this August, I found that her uterine cavity had developed adhesions due to the curettage procedures, making implantation difficult. Her AMH was also low.
After conditioning her eggs, we arranged egg retrieval in October. While she was under anesthesia, we also performed hysteroscopic surgery to separate the intrauterine adhesions.
The embryos were sent for PGT testing, and one embryo was found to be normal.
In November, we transferred this embryo. Nine days later, her first blood test showed an HCG level of 59.
Based on our experience, an HCG level above 100 on day 9 is usually more ideal.
After that, we continued to monitor her HCG. Although the level doubled every two days, the rise still seemed somewhat difficult, which made both me and the parents-to-be very worried.
At five and a half weeks, the HCG finally rose to 1800. During the ultrasound, it seemed that a gestational sac could faintly be seen inside the uterus, but the situation was still not very optimistic.
Today, at six weeks, she returned for follow-up. The ultrasound finally confirmed that this tiny gestational sac showed a regular and strong heartbeat. Everyone was truly overjoyed 😃
With advanced maternal age, few eggs, intrauterine adhesions, and only one PGT-normal embryo, achieving pregnancy on the very first IVF transfer after hysteroscopic surgery is truly rare and fortunate.
This little baby was also a bit playful. The HCG rise and the growth of the gestational sac were both somewhat slow, which caused a lot of anxiety.
But in the end, just like a seed sprouting from the soil, this little life brought us a wonderful surprise!
